Recycling Directive and Novatech

Can you tell me how you are applying the new directive on recycling elecrical equipment. I understand that there is an option to return like for like items based on a new purchase.

So for instance I buy a new motherboard and return one to you, could I do something like that at your Portishead Warehouse for example?

I have spoken with our Operations Manager and he has said The Directive and our responsibility to it does not cover a stand alone mainboard. We take part in a distributer scheme in which we pay for your local tip to dispose of items.

Therefore we can not take it back at Portishead. You will need to take it to you local tip who will then be able to sort it for electrical recycling should they support that scheme at your local tip.

If you are Business this operates slightly differently. So if this is household please go to tip =)

Thanks for your quick reply and my apologies if I am wasting your time but your reply was so specific for the motherboard it made me wonder if it applied to whole systems purchased from you ie PC's and printers.
