Ive just got a new pc with vista home premium and everytime i try and play any game i can really bad lag which renders all me games unplayable. I'm on a wireless network but i never had the slightest bit of lag when i had a slower system and xp.

Could you tell us what Games are causing the issue and what PC you have so we can see the spec

Doesn't matter i've sorted the problem, all i had to do was set myself as an administrator, but now i got another problem. Everytime i play a game with punkbuster enabled (call of duty 2, bf1942, bf vietnam) i get a message saying 'restriction service abnormality' which has just started today, when yesterday my system was running fine after i sorted out the admin thing.

Spoke to soon, the lags back again. Heres my system specs:

Intel dual core e2160
2GB DDR2 667Mhz ram
320gb Sata HDD
550W PSU
Xpertvision 8600gt 256mb

and i've been trying to play call of duty 2, battlefield 1942 and counter strike source.

Yea i got the updated drivers for pb, and for just about everything else. Now i'm just getting huge lag spikes every few seconds, which i never got on my older less powerful system.

Watch for hdd activity during spikes this could mean you just need more RAM I would sugest 3GB min for vista and games
