Hi guys,
I have a Maxtor 320GB Sata II drive that was purchased on 19/08/07 and has turned out to be faulty. As in can't format it in windows or copy stuff to it. Locks up the PC almost. I was advised in another forum to run the diag tools to see if it generates an error code because this helps with your returns procedures I was told.
Is this necessary as I'm 99% sure its a defective drive. Can I bring this back for a straight swap or will I have to wait for a replacement? Can someone advise me further? Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
JB
