Chaps,

Anyone got any handy experience/knowledge with different chargers for Macbooks. My missus has a Macbook and her charger broke, so she brought a new one but it turned out to be an 85 watt one rather than a 60 watt one which she had previously, the guy from the shop said it would work.

It works, but when you plug it in the light on charger just stays solid green the whole time which means it's fully charged. But as soon as you unplug it the machine turns off as the battery isn't actually being charged for whatever reason.

Anyone know of anything that can help?

Taaaa!

tricky one. you sure the conection is ok and it powers down because of low battery?

the higher wattage shouldn't really matter. could it be possible that the battery or charging circuitry was damaged with the old charger?

Well when the charger is plugged in, the battery level doesn't increase so I assume it's not charging up. We thought it might be a problem with the battery, but wanted to see if anyone else had any views on it because the Apple stuff is expensive enough as it is :(
