On booting up from cold PC goes off for a second (including blue light) then continues with the normal boot sequence and all works fine.
It reboots ok when required and I am very please with the perfomance of the PC. (MSI Motherboard)
Anybody got any ideas why I have this pause on cold boot, thanks?

This is normal for MSI P35 boards, they turn on initially to read the hardware and configure it then ower off and on again with the correct configuration. There is away to avoid this behavior with certain bios settings, try over at the MSI forums think the info is on there.

Thanks ned & nightmare99,

This is what one post said on the MSI Forum:

This is expected behavior for P35 chipset.
When the board first power on, it writes some data to the memory, and then go to a pseudo-S3 mode, (where memory is still powered), then full power on again. That's why you have power on, then shutdown few seconds , then power on again.

"So I guess this is normal if the above post is to be trusted - lol"
:)
