Hi,
Iv been flying on fsx for years without any problems, been using it for the last 3 weeks alot and now it freezes about 10mins into flight on every flight. The display stops but sound continues. Have to end process in Task Manager. Can anyone help me with this, got all the latest Drivers for my hardware and FSX Sp2.

Thanks

Sounds like a software problem to me. Can you drop the game to the taskbar with Alt-Tab when this happens and resume?

Comodo firewall used to interrupt my games a lot. anti-virus would be a candidate too. Couple of things to work on, anyway. :)

Lose the overclock with bios defaults too. Memory might run better at 2.0V, but that doesn't sound like the culprit here, since that tends to cause freezes. Latest bios no bad thing. If you are running Vista or win 7, running in admin mode might help on games.

Hi,
If i drop it to task bar and then resume it goes to a black screen. Memory is running at 2.1V, this was set when novatech instaled it.

Hi,
Memory is running at 2.1V, this was set when novatech instaled it.

It won't be running at 2.1V after a bios flash my friend. It is a manual bios setting that doesn't survive defaults or bios flash. The sticker on the RAM will tell you if 2.1V is appropriate, because it does vary.

Ideally RAM will run on it's JEDEC/SPD timings at 1.8/1.9V, but that is never a dead cert thing.

For all that, I don't think RAM is the issue here. Some software change might be responsible. Event log may tell you more.

Puts on baffle them with ******** hat...:D

Sounds like a FSX dll is waliking all over the memory space allocated to another program or dll. May just be some badly installed software.

I would test another game here and see if it crashes. This might eliminate a hardware error. Try the Resident Evil 5 bench or Unigine 2.0 in the overclocking and benchmarking section. http://forum.novatech.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=43

The thing is, if ALL games are crashing, you have to step up your diagnostics to memtest86+ off a Ubuntu 10.4 CD-R and test temperatures being below 60C with CPUID Hardware Monitor. Presumably your power supply is ample?

I reckon this is a game issue then. It may be some add-on FSX pack is buggy.

Or incompatible with a particular piece of software you run. Don't think anyone here can help you with this, unless they are an FSX gamer with experience of your particular FSX configuration. :(
