Okay. So.
I've had my iPod touch now for about 1 or 2 months. I've only just noticed in the past week that it's going a little funny. For example.

Last night i charged my iPod for a bit because it was almost flat and i got it up to about halfway and i thought, yeah ok that should do for a few videos. So i unplugged it and went on youtube to watch some videos. I managed to get through ONE video about 5-6 minutes long before it says that the battery is at 20%.

Also i noticed that my iPod seems to get extremely hot when i watch videos or play games or just general use of listening to music to be honest.. Its not hot enough to burn per say just uncomfortably hot..

And to add to this.. My earphones that i got with the iPod touch are the good ones with the bar and the microphone in as my iPod is 3G, 32GB, Seem to have absolutely no bass on them whatsoever now when they did before, all my music sounds terrible and every game, video, song etc. that i listen has literally NO bass at all!!

I think my iPod is going faulty.. what should i do..? I cannot return it to the distributor now because it has been longer than 28 days.. should i try and get a replacement from apple?

I dont want a £234 iPod to be wasted if its going faulty :'(

You want to make sure it is first...

My iPod goes down to 20% then next time I look it'll be at 30 :rolleye:

Check with other earphones too, see if the bass problem is to do with the iPod or the earphones, then you can get the right one replaced... iPod earphones just aren't great tbh, despite their high price

I think you should be able to return to Apple, its less than a year old after all...

only a 28 day warranty? did you buy it new? if so the distributor has an obligation to take back faulty goods under sale of goods act for a minimum of 1 year.

I would try that first. after that, if you still have proof of purchase, you might be able to take it up with apple directly, but they will probably shirk it back to the disti in the first year.

@Mr Grapes, Nah not 28 day warranty, i meant its still in the 1 year manufacturer's warranty but the distributer i bought it from doesnt accept returns after 28 days of purchase.

@Mungo, The earphones when i got the iPod brand new were actually very good with bass, and volume, now the bass has dissapered completely and the max volume setting is even very quiet.. :/

Take it into an apple reseller, they can use the production code to see when it was purchased, I took mine in whne it started playing up and got a replacement within 5 days....

You can also go on the apple website and type in the serial to get detailed information and to see if it's still under warranty, if so you can send it off to them and get it repaired/replaced. Although ive only heard that from a friend, fortuently ive never had any issues with my ipod classic.

One thing to note: If a company sells something to you (be it us, tescos, whoever) they have an obligation to help you resolve warranty issues. They can ask you to speak to Apple but at the end of the day you have the right to go back to them. For example, if you purchased an LG monitor from us and (heaven forbid) it went wrong then we can advise the best course of action is to call LG who would collect it and repair or replace it (as this is in many cases quicker for you). However if you didn't want to do that or you found you couldn't contact LG for whatever reason then you would have the consumer right to bring it back to us. This goes the same with your iPod Touch.
