Is it possible for you to find out which steppings you have in stock (AMD 3800+ Venice s939)?

You can just read the stuff that's written on the heatspreader. The part I'm looking for looks like this: CAB1E 0633EPMW (but could be a bit different).

I'd assume with venice being so old it will be the latest stepping that was produced. I don't think AMD produce 939 single core cpus anymore.

I'd assume with venice being so old it will be the latest stepping that was produced. I don't think AMD produce 939 single core cpus anymore.

AMD doesn't produce single core s939, that's right. Newest venice I've seen was made in week 34, 2006. However, I know that they're selling some older steppings somewhere else, so (hopefully) Novatech has something a LITTLE bit older.

I think AMD had to give away a lot of stock last december. I know they pumped the channel with $30 of unsellable products around that time. You'll have a hard time finding your stepping. I doubt anyone wants to touch these things since they are almost unsellable.

The stepping I'm looking for was actually in stock here a few months ago :wink:
