Okay, i'll start by saying the Game i play isnt what you would call super graphical and my PC is more than capable of running it with 60fps constant.

However over the last few weeks maybe the last 2 weeks, the game is so un-responsive and laggy, its not my connection because its pretty much the best i can get and its at a constant high connection speed due to location from the Exchange.

Anyway, the FPS has started dropping really low to like 2 fps during high action area's and like i say before this game never moved from 60fps even in the most demanding situations, so im just confused as to what is causing this.

RIG:

- Crosshair Formula III MoBo 790FX
- x4GB Corsair Dominator Ram 1600mhz [timings both match perfectly]
- x4GB Corsair XM3 Ram 1600mhz [timings both match perfectly]
- Phenom II 955 Black Edition 3.2ghz
- x2 Sapphire ATI 5770 Vapors in X-Fire.
- WD VelociRaptor 150gb
- x2 WD Cavier Green 1.5TB Drives [3TB total]
- 850watt Hiper PSU.

Now surely this should have no issue running the type of game im playing [think WoW but with only 10 players max] at any one time.

Anyone got any clues as to what might be the issue?

-- NOTE: I'm having issues with my Ram but this issue has only recently started happening and i had this particular Ram in over a month now, it worked fine with the New Ram its just the last 2 weeks or so that this stuff has started happening, im not 100% that its not the Ram, but even with 4GB Dominators in and the other Ram taken out the problem persists and again before i upgraded the Ram i still had a Constant 60fps without issue.

could always be an issue in X-fire - have you tried taking one out and just running the one card to see if you still get the same problem?

Sure it's not server congestion? What game is it? Does it do it on other games? Can you load up a SP game and go into a fps-intensive section to test?

Does it restore back to 60+ after the action has finished?

I had a problem like this while OC'ing

When I was OC'd to 1GHz core, 2GHz Shad and 4.4GHz mem I ran fine but when action started, I got extremely low FPS until I restarted my PC

Just lower your OC settings a bit and see what happens, It's how I fixed my problems

I reformatted the PC and it seems to have fixed the issue now, so no idea what the cause or the solution was.

Just pissed me off :D

Could be a simple as thing as hard disc space. Many apps and games use their own private page file (sometimes even when they don't need to) and if you'd run low on hard drive space then it may have bottle-necked the game. Just a thought.
