hi guys,
as usal ive have somthing wrong with my pc, i gont really know what it is, so i out put it in the graphics card section. anyway when i was on msn, my pc just restarted its self, so it rebooted back up and almost got to logging and then it restarted again. dont know wether its crashing or restarting but i get a quick glance at a blue screen if that helps. the next time i logged in then it decides too do it again and again and again ect. any ideas? i might have to take a trip down to novatech tommorow :S

How is your heat on your cpu? Make sure your hsf is on properly and making good contact with the cpu!!

Try memtest too.

put a halt on the BSOD.
right click my computer, properties, advanced, startup and recovery, it should be in there, but im not sure as i dont use xp anymore.

well it wont log on any more, but i found out what was wrong. the folder system32 is corrupt or missing. soo novatech said boot from ur xp cd, i did, and then repair it, which is fair enough. so i tried to do this this, i got as far as it asking me for my password for the administartor acount, but there and no password on any of my accounts, so i just pressed enter with out entering anything, and it just comes up with C:Windows/ and will just stay like that and do nothing.
and it will just restart in safe mode aswell, and if i let it, it will keep going in a loop! :s
p.s the cpu temp is fine but i will check the hsf aswell.

When it comes up with the prompt c/windows etc type help and it will gove u a list of the commands you can use in the repair module!!

did u run the chkdsk and repair boot try doing a few of the boot sequence tips and see how u get on

how do i do chkdsk?
but personelly i think its gonna have to be a compte re-install again! god i hate my pc!

well when u run the repair from windows just type in chkdsk and it should run it if i remember rightly

good and bad news, my hdd format didnt clear the problem i dont think, it wont even let me boot from the disk to re install windows, any how, ive jusy swappwd my ps2 and some games for 40 quid, wich should be enough to but a new 250gb hdd plus my bads bring home a coptuer from his ship that their gettin rid, and it might have to right hdd for me, so im kinda happy bout that!

You should have taken your ps2 into Game they would have given you a bit more for it!!!

Well go for a 160 or 80 but look into the best performing hdd you can!! For the money i still go for the 250 makes sense

ffs!!! got my new hdd, and tried to set up wiindows on it, it says it cant load a file from my disk so i rang up novatech and they said its either the cd, the the sata cable (which they've out a new one in the post for me) or the disk drive. so i change the cd and its just gone on the windows setup screen, u know the blue, when u boot it from the cd, and just stays there, so im waiting for the sata cable, also i reset the cmos, but nothing.
god i hate my ******* computer!!!!!!!!! i spend money on it and it ***** up everytime!!!!!!!!! it'll be a bloody mircle if this ever bloody works!!!!!!

can be a dirty cd or reader that can stop the correct reading of a file!!

Ah right thats because cod2 only uses 1 core which means its running on 1.8ghz it really needs a bit more to really be smooth!!

yay, computer is fixed! i took it to novatech and they said it was a faulty stick of RAM and they replaced it, but it was still under warrenty so its all good, but i had to pay the inspection fee of 35.25 coz ive bult it up, oh well, just gonna get all my music and doucuments back from my m8 an and atm im downloadin the crysis demo.
its dn 3% and its got 3h23min left lol

think ill update my mobo after xmas, coz i got feelin that my mobo and cou are ****, and that whats causing game slow downs, i think ill go for a mobo bundle , so ill get some RAM with it, besides the guy who fixed pc at novatech reckons ive got a dodgey built system! :S he said somethin bout my mobo be rubbish for a 8800gts
