Hes just released an optimization patch for those having problems (with crashes and what-not), could be worth a try :)

Hes now updated the patch, version 3 now out :)

Still playing SoC with the 2009 v1.4.4 patch and enjoying that. I note that you're having probs with the steam download codemonkey, which is what I have for both. Though yet to install CoP. Hope the patch works for the steam version. Fingers crossed.
