Before the following rant, I'd like to say I know Novatech aren't directly to blame, but here I go anyway...
So I place an order on Saturday for next day delivery, which was quoted Tuesday.
The order is processed by Novatech and dispatched by around 10am Monday.
So, I organise for someone to do me a favour and wait in whilst I go to work, obviously thinking it HAS to arrive on Tuesday because they've had well over 24 hours to deliver it on a service called "Express24".
Needless to say, it hasn't come. A quick search of "ParcelForce" on this forum shows similar stories. Google it and, well, you won't have enough time to read every comment about the ineptitude of this courier... I phoned them, and apparently it "missed the cut off time".
So, £4.99 delivery fee down the tube, and now an even bigger problem - I can't collect it. I've phoned three people begging for them to sit in tomorrow, nothing doing, and I can't book work off.
So there's every chance I have to cancel this order simply because Novatech use ParcelFarce.
I urge Novatech to stop using them. Just look at the following for example:
http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/transport-automobile-services/parcelforce/reviews/
It's tainting the Novatech brand by association. Do yourselves a favour and use a decent courier, or at least offer the option to have a choice of couriers, because I'd gladly pay £10 extra to use somebody decent.
Speaking of extra costs, I'll have to see who I can bribe to sit in for 12 hours tomorrow....
Hi Tubey
I'm sorry to hear that your parcel arrived later than expected. We use Parcel Force as the majority of the parcels we send do get through on time and in one piece. However, very occasionally something does go wrong which causes delays and inconvenience to all concerned. This is very regrettable and we do our best to work with ParcelForce to keep such incidences to an absolute minimum - but unfortunately they do very occasionally occur.
If you contact our customer services people (02392 322597 option 6 option 5 or by livechat (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/hdcontacts.html?d=customerservices)) they'll look into this and if the parcel didn't arrive within the specified time they'll look at refunding your delivery fee and also have a word with ParcelForce.

Tubes you don't say where it needed delivering, it's ok when you are mainstream city, but the outer hebs brings a whole new meaning to delivery, they aren't going to rush a parcel that cost £3 if it's going to cost £10 to deliver it are they, lets be fair teddy bear.

Liverpool mate. Pretty mainstream ;) And actually, if ParcelForce accept a contract, they should honour the contract. If they know they can't do the 24-hour service they shouldn't offer it.

Cheers Mike. I've sent a mail through using your form on the site as I'll be in work during livechat hours sadly! I understand logistics can go wrong, and I've used Novatech before without any problems whatsoever (free delivery came next day actually the last time I used you!). But I have zero trust in anything operated by Royal Mail! I'm furious at them really, not Novatech :P
Anyways,
11-05-2011 00:03 Liverpool South Depot Loaded to vehicle for delivery
10-05-2011 22:31 Liverpool South Depot Received at delivery depot
10-05-2011 02:51 National Hub Received and processed
So looking like it'll be here today. Hopefully the worst of my luck is over with :P

Yeeeehaaaaa it bloody got here ^^
I'll let Novatech off with the £4.99 - it feels "wrong" to take money off these legends when it was ParcelFarce at fault.
Right... now to assemble it without blowing things up... :)
Good to know you got it, Tubey :). Let us know if you run into any problems.

Well, first nuisance - the case only comes with three motherboard standoffs... oO

Yer right Tubes, Liverpool shouldn't be an issue to deliver to anyway, unless there is a Great Parcel Force Robbery crew awaiting, or maybe the driver bricked it when next door's poodle started barking, glad you got it sorted in the end.

Ahhh you mean Fridays? Nah, I avoided that day for delivery for that exact reason ^^

Hmmm normally if you get that then there's either plastic stand offs available with the case or parts of the case come up level under the certain sections so that you only need 3. Do you definitely need more?

Nope, just three standoffs. Not ideal but it's on anyway. I'll have to buy a few to stop it flexing but I've just been careful in the meantime slotting on the RAM etc.
After only one hiccup (didn't connect the 4-pin power connector to the motherboard on first power up, figured it out after 20 minutes of thoughtful staring at the problem!) the PC is up and running. It's a great little machine - thanks Novatechians :P
I can send some to you if you wish - believe me when I say that I have many, many going spare! :D
PM me your order number & name/address and I'll send some to you when I get in on Monday. Please don't post your details in the open forum though.

I'm currently suffering a similar problem, which is severely affecting the turnaround of my rig.
Had an "Express 24" pickup on Thursday (26th) assuming it would be at NT on the Friday, but nope. Assuming they don't work over the weekend its now Monday (30th) and it has spent it's ENTIRE working day in "National Hub".
Glad to see they deem Express 24 a priority...

Monday was a bank holiday so ParcelForce wouldn't have processed anything. So should be with us today.

AH!
That makes alot of sense now. Yeah it was signed for at like 1020 today, although hilariously at 1047 it was "Loaded onto vehicle for delivery".
Tracking ftw!
