Hi All, having chatted to the help line earlier I was directed to the forum thread for drivers/bios updates unfortunately my laptop isn't on the list. I searched it and can't find anything. I've got a W76K with XP OS. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Fifey

Did you try tech support?

Yes they sent me to http://forum.novatech.co.uk/showthread.php?420-Drivers-BIOS-updates-for-Novatech-Laptops. But this doesn't cover my laptop model??

Hi fifey

Welcome to the forums :)

It sounds like you have a Clevo W761K notebook. If so then the drivers can be located HERE (http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=M74xK%2FW76xK&ltype=9&submit=+GO+).

Is it me, the clevo site is now asking for a user name and password...??

That has been known to happen. Best thing to do is either wait 5 mins and try again, try clearing your download history/cache or try a different browser.

You can try re-locating the download yourself as well just in case your browser doesn't like the link I posted (mine seems ok though):
Go to www.clevo.com.tw (http://www.clevo.com.tw)
Click on Download (to the left)
Under the DRIVER heading select the MODEL as M74xK/W76xK SERIES (it's a bit of a list so you've have to scroll), select the DRIVER as ALL.
Click GO

Panic over it's letting me down load.
Thanks again.

Those are probably some of the chipset devices. If you can post the vendor and device IDs I can see where the drivers can be located. To obtain the vendor/device IDs please go into device manager and for each device which is not recognised please do the following:
Right click the device
Click PROPERTIES
Click the DETAILS tab
Device Instance ID should already be listed. Copy/Paste the first line into a reply to this post.

PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2383&SUBSYS_74651558&REV_80\4&2499A833&0&0338 &

PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2382&SUBSYS_74651558&REV_80\4&2499A833&0&0038

Are these what you need???

Ahh right. Those represent the JMicron camera card reader. See if the driver listed on this page helps the situation: ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/CardReader/Windows/JMB38X_WinDrv_R1.00.63_WHQL.zip (http://www.jmicron.com/Driver.htm)

[edit] Saying that, the original link I posted does have the drivers. Retry those drivers and if they don't work then do the one listed on this post. If that doesn't work then try deleting the driver (right-click the driver, click UNINSTALL, but don't choose to delete the driver (i.e. if there is a tick box which says this then don't tick it)). Do that for each one, right-click on the top most category and click SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHNAGES.
