I have an ACER Aspire T671 computer that originally came pre-loaded with Vista.
I have now installed Windows XP but now cannot find the XP drivers needed for the motherboard. All me searches end up with Vistas drivers.

I can get on-line using a wireless connection so searching and downloading isnt a problem. Unfortunately without the motherboard drivers installed all the necessary hardware wont work.

I have successfully fitted a soundcard I had lying around but buying and fitting a separate graphics & network card is an unnecessary expence.

Does anyone know what drivers will work please?

Get a utility like SiSandra and note down the HW components, then search them at source, Acer :vomit::dump::wall:, what a joke, no drivers prior to Vista.

Can't you get them from the Acer web site?

Thank you BOTH for your replies, I have already taken down details of the Motherboard and done a web search, also trolled the Acer web site but all links take me back to the Vista drivers

Yeah I tried for you earlier, it goes round and round and only Vista gets a mention.

Do we know what chipset it is? Blondie, download and run CPU-Z (http://forum.novatech.co.uk/www.CPUID.com) and have a look under the motherboard tab.
Please report the Model, Chipset and Southbridge.
