I'm definitely getting it - I love the the Elder Scrolls games (even Daggerfall - despite the bugs!)

being a massive Battlefield fanboy (played 1942 a bit, massive in BF2, steam recorded over 800 hours in BFBC2, and have spent every night over 3 hours each night on BF3 so far) i think i'll pick this up when it hits £15 or £10.

Oblivion was great, Elder Scrolls is all about modding.

I received my copy today I'm just waiting for steam to let us play it. Does anyone know the time? I think it's 5am tomorrow because of the time zone differences.

I've order mine. Hopefully it'll be here by Saturday!

I did notice the dreaded Games For Windows Live logo on the advert. However it seems that the game is published under that but they're not going to implement the 'live' bit. I.e. ghastly bit that chains all of your save games to your online account. Pheew!

DirtyElement

Uh if it was 'live'..... would not be good, hacked me off about dirt 3

I'm playing it atm my pc is old 9800gtx+ and a E8400 dual core but it runs pretty well. It was set to medium put I put on high at 1080p seems ok :)

Has anyone experienced any audio problems? I keep getting some nasty crackling

Anyone compared high and ultra shadows? I'm not seeing any difference except my fps dropping about 30fps lol

E8400 is a good CPU for gaming even though it's old. 3 GHz dual core with good OC capability :)
I'm running the same CPU but with a 285GTX card.

Awesome card, I am still using it in my main rig today, yet to find a game that I can't run on high settings... paid £130 for it in 2008!

Only two minor complaints so far...

1) I wish there was some sort of target lock, I suck at it currently though I expect I'll get used to it.
2) Overdone HDR again!!!

Other than that it is great :D

Spent a lot of the weekend playing it and absolutely loving it. The level of detail in the world is crazy. It's little things like salmon trying to jump up the waterfalls, and random wildlife interacting.

I suspect I shall be playing and exploring this game for a long time to come

It's pretty darn amazing when you see some details like ants and stuff.

A little tip for XFire and Skyrim until the new CAP is released by ATI that adds XFire support for the game.
Rename TESV.exe in you Skyrim folder to fallout3 and see a big increase in FPS, mine almost doubled on my XFire 6870 which has allowed me to up the detail to ultra. :)

Tesco usually have some left for pc, i went into tesco direct 1 day after bf3 came out and bought it and they had mw3 in there a day after it came out, but i bought it on steam.

Yep, that's where I got it in the end, my local Tesco's last copy, cheaper than anywhere else I'd seen it too :D

Patch due for consoles on Moday by the looks of things, PC should already have it? :)

Loving the game so far, seems to be so much more strealined than Oblivion was, though maybe that's just the impression I get having attempted to play Oblivion on the pc.

Nope, no PC patch yet. They are releasing at the same time as the console apparently

What a mess :(

After a frustrating week of the game causing my PS3 to lock up and numerous bugs that add to that frustration I returned it for a refund.

Currently playing Oblivion on the pc while waiting to see if Bethesda can actually manage to fix it, if they do I'll re-purchase in an instant.

PC has had two patches now taking it to version 1.3

I still get the occasional CTD but otherwise it's fairly solid. And with the announcement of mods being available through the Steam Workshop come January or February it's definately the platform to play it on!

Dano

Mods leave me utterly cold, I have zero interest in them whatsoever. Being able to play on the TV with decent surround sound while lounging on the sofa appeals to me far more than playing on the pc does, even more so when I spend so much time working on one. Sadly the pc isn't anywhere close enough to plug into the telly either else I'd be ordering a wireless 360 controller and going down that route.

Dano

Seeing lots more reports of X360 users suffering from lockups now, not good at all :(

Its sucked away many hours of my last few weeks, it plays great on my Ati4850 to at 1440x900 which surprised me. Some of the areas are amazing can't believe how much detail they added in.

I ended up buying the PC version, so much easier to play with mouse/keyboard :D

Having to stop myself playing so much lol.

I tried it with a 360 controller on my pc but I find its very hard to use the bow and arrow that way. :( Easier to run around though.

Some great stuff out there, sounds of Skyrim is a must.

SkyUI, didn't buy Skyrim without it :D

Dano
08-03-2012, 10:10 AM
Yes, I really must get around to installing that, keep meaning to... does it still require the script extender?

wuyanxu
08-03-2012, 10:26 AM
unfortunately yes :(

i also got Dovahkiin hideout, which is like a central hub, great if you want to get to fast travel to another city but don't want to waste time. (eg, arrive at night and can't sell anything)

and invincible unique horses, don't want Shadowmere to die do we? :D

Dano

I've not actually downloaded any mods yet at all, too busy playing to actually have the time to sit down and decide what I want to play with lol :)

codemonkey

Some must have mods like Sky UI and Categorized Favourited Menu do require the scripts extender, but if you use the Nexus Mod Manager, it makes it all nice and easy

Dano
08-03-2012, 04:39 PM
Was speaking to my brother earlier and he's running Sky UI without the extender apparently, said all that doesn't work is the search box :)
