I purchased an IFlame Pro PC with Windows 7 last year and am very happy with it. I have'nt been able to find a button to allow me to hibernate rather than shut down. I have in the recent past set the power button to be used to hibernate...however this seems sometimes to cause a 'blue screen of death' when pressing the power button to return to the desktop. In other words...it does'nt like it!
Can anyone out there tell me if it is possible to enable a hibernate button in the shutdown menu? I understand that it may be due to having the graphics within the motherboard rather than a separate graphic card. Any info on this would be appreciated.

Hi madashatter

Please try the following:
Click START
Type 'power' in the searchbox at the bottom of the START menu (don't press ENTER though)
Click on Power Options in the list
Click on Change Plan Settings to the right of the power plan which is already selected
Click on Change Advanced Power Settings
Click on [+] next to Sleep so that it opens
Click on [+] next to Allow Hybrid Sleep so that it opens
Click on the setting and change it to Off
Click OK

You should now have the Hibernate option available when you click START then the small arrow next to Shutdown.

[ADDITIONAL]

I would suggest that unless you really want that option there that you leave the above Allow Hybrid Sleep mode set to On.
Instead try the following:
Click START
Type 'power' in the searchbox at the bottom of the START menu (don't press ENTER though)
Click on Change what the power buttons do in the list
You can now change what the power button does if pressed once. You can change it to Hibernate for instance :)

I followed your instructions and Hey Presto....I have a hibernate button! Hooray!

Regarding the additional suggestion... about setting the power button to hibernate. This is what I had been doing but found that on returning to the desktop from hibernate one out of every three or four times it would result in a 'bsod'. I hope now that it will be stable :)

Many Thanks......

Glad to help. What's the STOP code of the BSOD error you get?
