The Router:
Belkin Wireless G Plus Routrer
Version 1212uk
Firmware Version 4.07.07
Boot Version 2.03.08
Hardware F5D7231-4
Serial No. BEL22TCH
I have XBOX LIVE, and plugged all the ethernet cables in place, turned on the xbox and connected perfectly, about 3 days later, it started to block peoples voice's and block me from joining people's games!!
Now I have to do a direct connection and connect the xbox directly to the broadband box
I have rung up BELKIN.. I got though to two foreign people (who didn’t have a clue what they where on about, as usual) .. they where a complete waist of time!
I rang XBOX LIVE and they told me to open 3 certain PORTS. ... (which the people from BELKIN directed me though that process of opening the ports .. but NOO.. it still doesn’t work!!)
So I’m STUCK..
Oh.. I know someone else who has the same Router... and there’s is fine when using it with XBOX LIVE !
Any ideas ??

Have you got another computer on this network connected to the internet at the same time as you are using LIVE?
Have you tried a firmware update?

check here for a firmware update if this does not help, then try resetting the thing to defaults and see if it fixes it.
on a personal note found belkin routers to be a pain in the ****, but would highly recommend netgear/d-link

hi there,
Yee I have one computer added to the router + wireless connection to a laptop + the XBOX.
Apparently my Fireware is the latest version. The person who has the same router as me, has an older firmware version
His Firmware: V1.00.000
My Firmware: 4.07.07

Hi..
I am with Telewest Blueyonder 1MB.. being upgraded to 4MB at the end of this month
I put the router back to the factory settings, but i originally had the router with the latest firmware... Is there a way i can download and install them off the web?

did it make any difference when u put it back to factory settings m8, u can go to that link above and download latest one again, but if it works i wouldent put the latest one back on, sometimes they have bugs in them and they fix them in next release

Dan, thanks for the link.
I downloaded "F5D7231-4 Firmware update- Europe Only" - but when i tried to install it, it came up with the following message:
Firmware Update Failure: You have attempted to install an incompatible firmware version. Your router will now reboot. :?
I dont know why its saying its incompatible if thats the version I have already ?!? LOL

Routers don't tend to like to be flashed with older or same version firmwares as its already got, they tend only to look for new ones which might explain that error

ok then nothing is ever easy lol, right ok the onyl thing i can think off is your router is a slight variation of the model number u gave in your original post if you go here you will notice there is some different model numbers to your one by a - and 4 digit number like 3000/4000
http://www.belkin.com/support/download. ... ng=1&mode= (http://www.belkin.com/support/download.asp?category=9&lang=1&mode=)
look down the list at model number obviously looking for
F5D7230-4_V4000
F5D7230-4_V3000
can u check if this either of these is your model and if so download firmware for that other than that its belkin, but if u still get no joy let me know and i will do some more investigation work

Danc,
Thanks for that.. I tried the two versions 3000 & 4000, but non of them worked. I still got that error message!
I even tried the version i currently have installed, but still had the message.
Strange..
Thanks,

its a bit strange i would say, um what i would suggest is one obviously log into brouter and check the firmware version once again, and get me model number as it is in the config there, if u feeling brave speak to belkin support or send them an email.
failing that grab me on msn and i will go through some other things with ya

Wellll, last night i uninstalled the router again, and re-installed it from scratch. Then I tried my xbox and it works !! :D
But its weird how it works now, but didnt work before.. considering i didnt change any settings :?
I just hope it stays as it is, because it worked fine when i first had it for about 3 days... then suddenly it started blocking people!
I will keep you updated!
Thanks for all your help,
