YO YO YOOOOOO
ermmm.. i used to be a hardcore downloader a few years ago, back in the days when I used Kazaa 24/7 !
Kazaa
Kazaa Lite
BearShare
E-Donkey
I-Mesh
Sole Seak
Limewire Pro
YOU NAME IT..... I HAD IT !
I filled an external 120gb HDD With Software/Games/Films/Songs/Pictures etccc !! :P
Now days, I dont have any type of P2P on my systems as I've heard on the news and in papers that there is a massive crack down on them ! Any body being caught with a P2P can be fined or what ever..
But is this true.. (im sure 9/10 people reading this post have or know someone with a P2P :) )... I am DIEING to download a P2P and start my radical hardcore downloading again.. but just a little worried about being caught..
any suggestions?

as far as i know, if you download things then it is not illegal, but if you then share any file then it is ilegal, but the chances of them finding you is very slim, i have been downloading for years and so have all of my mates and none of them have been caught.
i cant tell you what i do just incase u hunt me down and find me

i have seen things on the net and in the papers about them trying to crack down on file sharing, so far i have only seen a few people that have been fined. out of the millions of people that use things like kazaa you would have to be very unlucky to be caught.
however i have heard of people that have had their systems infected with spyware, ad-ware and viruses when using P2P software.
its riddled. I know a few people who use the stuff, and their machines are full of the stuff (spyware) I very rarely download (only missed lost and alias tv episodes) really cant be bothered these days - got to the age where i'm actually supporting the software industry.

It's all about torrent.
I have never used P2P`s but I have heard alot about them. From what I have heard about them they are very good but I dont know which one`s are the best to use.
I am thinking of getting one but dont know which one so does anyone want to recommend any good P2P`s to me that I should download.

The biggest 'risk' with P2P filesharing is the malicious software, viruses and spyware that swamp the various clients and downloaded material.
The legality of P2P has been discussed and argued at length in almost every type of forum.
Sharing copyrighted code is illegal and the regulatory organisations are happy to proscecute anyone found to be downloading or uploading anything that they don't have the right to do.
There are a few grey areas, like TV episodes, particularly those that have not yet been aired in the UK or are regional, and this is something that also raises great debate.
The technology is very useful though. There are a number of sites now distributing their own software, freeware and legal, live concerts and recordings. Known as trade-friendly - check out eTree (http://bt.etree.org)

use bittorrents (Utorrent, bitlord etc) rather than progs like kazaa, imesh, limewire etc, you've got less chance of getting hit with viruses, spyware etc

Ares or gnucleus
http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/
http://www.gnucleus.com/Gnucleus/
Both of which are open source and completely free from malware/adaware, the only way you can get malware is by downloading it ;)
Bit Torrent sites are far better than ur Limewire, kazza etc less viruses & spyware,
i started off with crappy Bearshare now use the BT sites with farless less problems  & with a much reduced chance's of spyware/viruses
120gb! You pansy, I'm currently sitting with a 80, 250, 120, 160 and a 500gb.
Basically distrubution is the word here, I've had one complaint in my entire 8 years of downloading stuff, and that was when I was monitored getting a copy of Solidworks. All I was told to do was stop distributing it (it was via a torrent) and that was the end of that one.
The only p2p I use is torrents and Frostwire. Hope those help.

Lol hardcore storage going on unleashed!!!!
You haven't seen my CD/DVD collection.
This is a legacy from my wilder days though, I slowed myself down by getting a 20gb/month cap on purpose. Nowadays it's just media, I buy all my games and albums if I like them, but I rip everything too so it's not all just pirated stuff.

I use lime wire pro, It states that you may download the file but not share it or sell it stating that you own it. Thats illegal but if you use the download responsibly its OK.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
