hey guys.
so,
Im planning on buying the Annihilator *** from novatech just before xmas, so i can have it at xmas while i got time off.
anyway,
ive always been using slightly out-of-date systems to feed my hardcore gaming spree's but now i can afford to get this machine.
I know there are better systems out there, but some of them seem to cost up to £4000 so screw that!.
I aint worried about the money,
i just wanted ur guys opinion on how it would be for gaming?
im planning on filling the RAM slots up with the same RAM as it has now, but fit each slot with 2gig sticks. so that would = 8gig.
so what do u reckon?

If you're using a 32bit OS then anything more than 3.5GB (ish) will be unused, and as such is totally pointless.

im getting it with Vista Ultimate.
would the 8gig still be useless with that?
sounds sweet, now wheres mine   ..lol

You'll still need it to be 64-bit not 32-bit.

if i get this machine from Novatech
i heard it will come with Vista 32-bit.
but can i choose to get vista 64-bit pre-installed instead?
and will this machine support it?

They can supply you with a 64bit OS but I very much doubt they would install it as its not a standard line for them.
Support wise. Afaik there is nothing on that build that wont support 64bit.
Just be careful with a 64bit OS, yes its a lot faster but you will have issues with getting some games working. Although eventually everything will work and everyone will switch to 64bit.
Tbh I run 32bit Vista Ultimate with 4GB Ram installed and a 768mb 8800GTX
Sure it can only see just over 3GB but its runs sweet as a nut and i get perfect graphics in every game i have tried so far and at pretty much full Res.

Ok so if i get 64-bit but have 32-bit already on there,
is it just a case of popping in the CD and it upgrades from 32 to 64?
is it as simple as that?
Also.
If i have 32-bit already on there, and it works fine, and got 64-bit as well.
i could always leave 32-bit on there untill i needed 64 i guess.
Edit:
sod it, maybe ill just get the standard 32-bit to save hassle

So after ordering this, there
has been numoruos problems with stock.
No PSU's available, no gfx cards.
I shouldnt have ordered it so close to xmas.
But now after waiting for a while,
the new problem is that, they had trouble bridging the 3 cards or something, which was down to a faulty motherboard which they are replacing.
This is kinda annoying but im looking forward to this pc soo much that it doesnt bother me too much, it takes as long as it takes.
On the other hand, im worried about buying this pc now, because, from what ive heard, the triple sli is very new, and i hope its not too new that it hasnt been thouroughly tested.
It sounds to me like im going to experience a lot of problems with this machine when i get it.
Is there anyone out there, that can reassure me, that the pc should be ok??

Sorry buddy all high end new spec machines are likely to be trouble at 1st but it doesnt take long for the patches and new bios versions to come out and sort everything out.

ok thx
You should be fine, as you said eariler if i was you stick with the 32bit and keep the RAM then when the 64bit proggrames start picking the pace more than 32bit then is when you should by a 64bit version of ultimate and upgrade the RAM
Prices will also be cheaper ;) but it wont be that much then what it is now, 3 bridge 8800GTX's you better bring that to a massive lan like the iseries that pc could be one of there best ;)
