Hello all.
Im looking to buy another 1gig memory for my PC. Im currently at work so im unable to give detailed specs on Mboard and memory, but i think i can remember enough for advice on my memory.
Here it is, at the moment i have a 512 DDR2 333mhz in place and im looking to add an additional one to boost the onboard memory. Im having problems finding DDR2 with 333mhz memory, i maybe missing some thing when im looking for it but i cant seem to find the specific memory speeds that i already have.
Please could some one point me in the right direction
Thanks in advance
Dave
when you get home, if you post the info on the mobo, then we can help you find the right ram for it, but i see what you mean by having probs, the only 33mhz ram i can see is for pc 2700

Ok i have some more information on what the board is. ( gawd bless having my other half off ill from work, she's dug out the M/B box for me )
Asus - Elitegroup KN1 Extreme Motherboard - K8T890-A, ive searched the board on another site and the supported RAM speeds are 400 MHz, 333 MHz, 266 Hz, 200 MHz.
My next question is now, as i already have a DDR2 333mhz in place would i need to pair it up with another 333mhz, or am i able to put the 400mhz in the other slot? or would it be best just to buy two 400mhz?
Im tempted to go for these as a pair, but im open to suggestions

are you sure its ddr2 333mhz ram that you already have, as from what i can find it will take ddr400 ram, o if that is the case then the ram you picked out should work fine, and just take out the old ram and use the new set

I've known people mix all sorts of stuff up and still get it working. The theory is that it runs at the speed of the slowest stick.
Corsair certainly fancy most of their Value Select stuff in your AMD 939 motherboard.

Since you've only got two slots and DDR is so relatively expensive these days, I think I'd start with ONE of these £18.65 512MB Corsair VS DDR400 types:

CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php) will tell you how it pans out. See if it then says dual-channel in the memory tab. Get another stick of the same Corsair VS if you then have to. OK, that only gives you 1GB total, but that should do. :D

Thanks for the feed back and advice guys. Im gonna go ahead and buy the 2g kit, ive just noticed that in my orginal post i put 512mb which is wrong i currently have 1g in there. Now i can confidently go a head and buy the ddr400 and hopefully get it this side of christmas.
@System 7 thanks for the links, both are very helpful and have now found new homes in my favourites.
Many thanks again for the feedback and advice.
