Novatech Recovery CD

A friend has a Novatech Verso PC which came with a Recovery CD that contains the WinXP Home files.

Is it possible to use this CD to run the WinXP Recovery Console or does it only do a reformat and reinstall?

the novatech recovery disks are designed to wipe the hard drive clean and reinstall windows. sadly there is no access to the recovery console form a recovery disk.

That is a pity.

Could a different WinXP disc be used, just to run, say, chkdsk, if WinXP would not load properly?

If you had a copy of a Microsoft Hologram OEM CD for XP home it could be used in this fashion.
