This is most probably the best cordless mouse ever.

Never runs out but only lasts about 2/3 years

oh dear :O i jumped into source games on my downstairs PC and that PC was ****! Dell series and it had a P4 proccessor with no HT or nothing and also the graphics... 128mb with geforce 2 MX128 or sommit it was **** but for some reason when i started i thought the graphics was amazing and i couldnt get any better*

This was all on LOW and with FPS rates of 30.

My graphics card is an X1600 but its one of those cheap dodgy make ones (when you look at it using programs like everest it's just blank) so 5fps CS:S ftw. Never wanted to upgrade as motherboard is shoddy as well. Foxconn :S

Anyway not to worry New PC on Tuesday :D

is the motherboard a good overclocker ive heard different stories?

and what OS are you gonna be using?

Jonny2Bad
06-01-2008, 01:20 PM
If you go for a dual core then its an amazing overclocker i had my e6600 running stable at 3.6ghz at 1.6v on air which was quality, but as soon as i got the q6600 there was nothing but trouble, you have to revert to the older bios which asus doesnt supply anymore and even then you need to be watercooled to get anything over 3.2 3.4 as the volts are 1.6 which just burns the **** out of a air cooler under load.

Well from what I've been reading it should be fine. I'll be use 64bit XP Pro, Windows Vista Ultimate, Ubuntu and Fedora Core.

A friend of mine has the exact same setup apart from ram and his Q6600 is overclocked to 3.2 GHz with no problems. CPU under load with the same heatsink is between 50 and 57 degrees (80 - 100% load)

Jonny2Bad

what bios? the os has nothing to do with it buddy trust me ive had this mobo for a year it hates quads the whole 680i chipset doesnt like them

Jonny2Bad
06-01-2008, 01:36 PM
Jeez mine idles at 33 33 31 31 and hits 40 underload thats using coretemp, probe shows as idle 21c, your m8 is not getting good temps on that overclock

PeteA

the one that came with the board. (came as a bundle from ebay, i've checked the board is the asus striker when he got it to make sure he wasn't being conned)

Anyway I don't think I'll be overclocking it anyway.

Might as well have got a cheaper board then if not gonna overclock, do a search on this forum for striker we have covered loads on other threads about our successes and woes with this board.
