Hi,
I have just built my System up. I ordered All the parts from Novatech which were -
MSI K8N Nforce4 Socket 939 Motherboard
Retial Boxed AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Corsair XMS3200 1gb Ram Kit (2x 512)
Wester Digital 250GB SATA HardDrive
XFX Nvidia 7900GT PCI-E Graphics Card
Thermaltake Soprano case
Hiper Type R 480Watt PSU
I connected it all up today and made sure everything was correctly inserted etc. I then plugged it into the mains and switched the PSU switch on on the back and then got a very load BANG / crackeling noise and Sparks Shot out from the PSU vents and then smoke.
I have built and repaired lots of systems and never saw this happen before.
Hopefully It hasnt damaged anything else.. :(
Im trying to get a Manufacturers Fault number so I can send it back.

Thanks, that would be great :D.. Been trying to get in contact with Hiper for a Manufacturers Fault Number but cant get hold of them (must be because of the bank holidays).
Would it be possible to get a refund on it as I couldnt wait to get the computer up and running so bought a 450watt JeanTech PSU in town yesterday.
a good thing is everything else seems to be working fine :D. I was Very worried incase the PSU killed everything when it did that especially the XFX 7900GT which seems to be hard to get hold of :)
Thanks again

Hi,
Thanks, Email received. Please could you arrange a collection for me?
My Novatech account ID is the same email address that you emailed me with if you need it.
Also, the Order number which had the PSU on was 3793505 if you need that.
If you need my address, please let me know and I can PM it to you
Thanks for the help :D

Strange phenomenon....
How come if a PSU blows up next to your head....the first thing you check is that your nuts are still there?
Answers on a postcard...

hehe, yup, was a little bit too quick :D, was at work when they tried to collect it. Phoned them and they said I could drop it off with them as they are right next to where I work and get a collection receipt off them etc.
Thanks :D
