can't get 2nd hd towork

when i had xp i had a 2nd hd and stored ALL my files ,pics music etc , now have installed vista on my main hd but can't get into 2nd hd . On computer management it is visible but not "working" help ...

checked in bios to see if you can view it via hardware prioity? if you cant view this see if all the cables are properly connected

Yeah all cables in correctly ans it is the slave on bios . just wondering if it's summit to do with the data beig put on drive with xp as os drive is vista now ...

goto admin tools, then goto computer managemnt, then goto drive management (something along those lines) if its in, itll show up there. Right click, enable it, then right click and format and create the partition.

Right click on <My Computer> and select <Manage> - this should bring up the Computer Management screen.

Click on <Disk Management>

On the right side of the screen (split screen) left-click on the hard drive you want to select and then right click and pick "Make Partition Active"

You are all missing what the OP has written. He knows how to get to Disk management. He is saying that his drive can be seen there. But, he is unable to see the data that is written on it.

OP, Can you tell us what it says about the status of the drive in Disk management?
