I'm just wondering how and what people use to back up their systems. I don't backup stuff as often as I should and probably do that awkwardly. So I'm looking for advice on the way forward.

Photo's & important Docs, I back to a CD/DVD once in a while, but I never have bothered to put them back on between rebuilds. So not really sure what I have on those ambiguously labelled discs.

Music, I back up to an External 2.5" HDD that have.

Applications, I just reinstall these when I rebuild.

I now have 3 Drives I can use. A Samsung 320GB & 2x WD 200GBs

The 320 Currently has XP on it. One of the WD I just received back from sending in an RMA and the other is still left over as the remnant half of a failed RAID 0. So needs a format.

I was thinking of RAIDING the 2 WD's in a Mirror and putting my files on there. But I am open to suggestions.

I have a home file server that I have available to me via ssh and sftp at all times too. I keep everything locally on my machine, and have a copy on said server. That way I have an onsite backup, plus if I'm anywhere else in the world I have access to my data, securely!
