friend of mine is relative noob to computers but has had a Pentium 1 banger for quite a while until the acquisation of a nice free handmedown PIII 700 Dell (think 256 of ram and 10gb hard disk) which is running XP and normal apps very nicely.
he wants to get some bits to get this machine to copy some VHS films to DVD,
I suggested getting one of the very nice and extremely cheap Pioneer burners, which are only £35 or so inc vat
need some advice on a TV card, just something cheap, that gives good results with reasonable bundled software. Im probably thinking of Happauge or some other reputable brand.
This is an oldish machine hes running, so might need to recommend getting a bigger hard disk and 512mb of ram. Oh and its probably got 4mb or so onboard graphics card.
