Hi guys,

My current PSU is a 480W PSU, I believe its the HYPER Type R 480W. I have just bought the ASUS EN8800GT 512MB and wondered if my new PSU will handle it under load, or if anyone can recommend a new PSU for £70 or less that would do the job? I was looking at the http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?TT-W0117 one, but if I dont have to upgrade then I don't particularly want to as my PC has already been out of action for 3 weeks, and im on an old VAIO with only 256MB of ram...

Thanks in advance

also it all depends on the ampage on the 12v rail of your current psu as to if its good enough to run the 8800gt, if its less than say 25 amps, get a new psu

Depends on the rest of system. I'd guess a 480W hiper should be

Either of these should do you in case you do need a new PSU.

Ah look at all you foolish noobs living in the future. There was a time not that long ago actually that this forum worshipped hiper psu's (like it now worship's corsair and thermaltake psu's) However they arent talking complete rubbish, it does depend on the rest of your system but aslong as your not running crazyness you should be ok
