Well I did some O/C last night on my E6600, I did manage to reach the 3.7GHz but the system was not stable at all. cpu set @ 1.6volts memery set @ 2.1volts.
everytime I booted into Windows most apps were stable it was when I put 100% load on the CPU the system did a complete shut down out of the blue, the stable point for my system was 3.36GHz and everything was fine, Mem and CPU at full load, however, the best part is the memory I have clocked to 1000MHz and was stable.

Temps:

I couldn't be bothered as I needed to install some software for it, but what I can say is that the Zalman didn't do too bad, I left the system at full load for 2 hours and at a guess I would say the temps got to about 30 - 40c (water cooling CPU and Memory) not bad really considering the reast of my house is like an oven!

I did make notes somewhere as to what setting i had will look later for them.

I have some good news guys I have successfully clocked the E6600 to 4.0GHz, I have left tests running for 8 hours solid and the system is 100% stable at full load.
Jonny2bad you said your mate clocked his to 3.9GHz on air I am really surprised he didn’t fry it because look at the picture below the CPU was between 80-85c on water at full load!

Clocks:

CPU – 4004MHz
Multiplier – x7 (572MHz x 7.0 = 4004MHz)
Bus Speed – 446.2MHz
Rated FSB – 1780.8MHz
Memory – 1000Mhz (unlinked)

Temps:

CPU – 80-85c
Memory – 80-85c
N/B – 70-74c
S/B – 45-50C

Not a bad clock!

Good work buddy very nice clock indeed, yeah it was using a tuniq 120 which is a very good hsf indeed, and i think it really depends on how good a water system is in place, my 3.7ghz didnt get past 60c if i remember correctly.

Mine might of been so high because I am cooling the memory and the CPU on the same water system and memory gets really hot too...

Yes that would explain it, would be worth putting another loop in for the memory would be my advice.

Well, I don't run clocks that high on a day to day basis. I clock to 3.0GHz and I leave it there and temps are around the 40-60s at full load, I think I could push the CPU to about 4.1 to 4.2GHZ but as you can see the temps are getting silly high and I think temps at that speed would be in the 90s. What is frying point do you know?

Anything over 75c would be frowned on lol. Well although those temps are acceptable they are quite high for a dualcore seeing as my quad runs less than that on air at the same 3ghz.

Anything over 60°c is not a good idea. You have a CPU that has a thermal threshold of 85°c but anything over 60.1°c will cause your CPU to burn out. Also anything over 1.5 on air is frowned upon in the overclocking world. Asus Probe 2 isnt a great program to monitor your temps with. Download Coretemp for accurate reading.
