Hi,

My novatech pc's been working like a dream but over the last few days it's developed an intermittent problem during startup - it just hangs 3ish out of 4 times while the green bars are progressing across the screen.

I'm looking for some help diagnosing what the problem might be,

-vista home premium, service pack 1 installed
-startup repair chugs away, always finishes, everything shows 0x0 error codes and reports that "an unspecified configuration change may have prevented startup" or something similar - this doesn't seem to affect the chances of a successful startup next try though :(
-once the pc has started up ok, the pc seems fine and can run for hours and hours without problems
-can't pin-point it to any recent driver changes

can anyone help with what my next step in diagnosing the problem might be?

thanks,
Steve.

Could be driver, Have you updated any of these recently??

Installed any new software that starts up with the system?

When it hangs is it literally just before the loading bar goes away and the desktop starts to come up or does the loading bar hang, then move abit more then go to desktop.

Mine had an intermittent fault that was similar to this, but it didn't even get to the green bars. Try removing legacy USB in BIOS and see what happens. It fixed my computer's problem.
