When i was building this one i built it off knowledge id gained from poking round in my old one the very helpful but not too detailed manual that came with my motherboard and luck :D

thats what will probably happen with me, whilst following the structure of i guide, i like to work it out for myself

yes, its always better to build what you want, also some parts of you computer you can buy used. But never buy used power supply and harddisk !

And another top tip:

If you are going to buy used memory, make sure you get the seller to run a full 24 hour memtest on it, to prove it is free of faults.
And as for CPUs - make sure that you have a good picture of the pins so that you know that any of them aren't bent.
Finally, never sell your hard drive second hand.. Or if you do, make sure all the data is completley wiped, because some people buy them, and use them the data for bad things.
