Well ive always said an extra ghz is a good clock so 3.4 would really suit me, it kinda makes it all worthwhile .4 .6 is ok but a whole ghz is nice!! And is ok without putting too much stress on the system so i'm aiming for that.

Right all sorted the darn g11 keyboard was messing with my input to get to the raid set up, very annoying i must say lol. Ok it's all up and running, not overclocked yet as the bios needs a evening on its own its got settings for how hot your kettle boils ffs. But all in all so far a very nice board!!

The bios is very complex, there is settings for just about anything you want to change half of which i dont understand just yet so will be doing a lot of studying i think, just managed to get too 3ghz without any effort at all, running a lot cooler than the striker idle at 33 33 30 30, vcore the same 1.26v.

After playing about for a bit (yeah yeah i know i got sucked in got to get up for work in 5hrs lol) the bios is not as complicated as it looks managed a 3.4ghz and been prime95 for about 20 mins that'll do me for this time of the night will leave running see how it goes. Some pics anyway.

seems like your chip's VID is 1.25? that's not as good as J2B's.

i will soon get a q6600 with VID of 1.2125 when he's selling his q6600 (aka, when he finds q9450's stock) :) that's as low as most people can get :lol:

Yeah you were right took some figuring out the connection to the ram etc but once it had all sunk in at 1.30am this morning there was no stopping me lol. Even finished work early today so i could come back and play some more. Very happy with the board so far a real pleasure to play with. :lol:

Its idling at 33 33 30 30 at 3402.3 mhz pretty happy with that. its as good as my striker at 3 ghz

yeah them temps are fine mines around 33 33 28 28 but anything around the 30s are fine.
im thinking of a 3.6ghz overclock if my temps dont exceed the barrier :( anyway whats the temp barrier + voltage barrier so we dont break warrenty?

theres been not much difference with idles on good heatsinks with quads its the load we want :mrgreen:

if im correct tr120x hasnt got the lowest idle but the lowest max

Load hit 60c just! After an hour of priming, but the v1 isnt known for its high tolerence of quad oc, it was designed for the dual core really i think , but is doing a great job considering. Gonna order a tuniq this weekend though.

Ok seems my tracers were holding me back put my old 800mhz dominators back in and hit 3.6ghz no problem.

why is 400mhz a big deal lol? im @ 400mhz fsb on stock volts...

oh w8 thats because im so far behind that my multipliers only 7 so 400mhz=2.8ghz which = meh when compared with u bunch of Q6600'ers, and here was me thinking that i'd be ok with my 6300 4 the next 3-4 years lol i will get a Q6600 or some quad core @ some point but its gfx upgrade next :D

400Mhz means 50% overclock on q6600. and it is achievable with a lucky chip. it is the goal of most overclocker once they get the q6600.

Urrr i havent tried yet matz lol i just upped it as far as i could on stock volts :D and my temps are about 60 atm cos of various issues with airflow and heatsinks and wateva, when i get new case i will have a go though :D

no, 3.6Ghz on q6600 is possible on every chip if you are willing to use top end cooling (Tuniq, TRUE, WC, etc)

4Ghz is the goal of extreme overclockers. and my goal is 4Ghz 3Dmark06 stable on air cooling :D and 3.6Ghz all the time.

A golden chip for q6600's is one that can hit 500mhz fsb, not many can, most top out around 470, so if any of yours can do that, your extremely lucky :)

Diploma in digital applications, in other words anything to do with ADOBE :P so we do 4 units that adds up to four GCSE's
theres 25 lessons a week (but we rotate every fortnight) 12 lessons of this a fortnight :)
just finishing my last project off and then i can have free periods xD luckily for me its a 3min home run or 2mins cycling :)

yeah, for my first unit i was put in the bottom class due to having a ****** year9 teacher but then i passed that with the maxium grade when all the others were just scraping the pass (G) i got the C :mrgreen:

then for units 2 to 4, what ever i done i would atleast get a C.
got the highest multimedia mark :P and tbh it was easy (that got me a high B) i might post some of the stuff online if you wana have a peek) unit3 is graphics and man i have done some sick work :P

the real course to do in university is Electronic Engineering (what im doing now, at Soton uni. search it, best Electronic uni in europe) all the computers are made by us Electronic engineers and all your mobile phones are using ARM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_architecture) designed chips, whom i turned down for this year's summer placement because somewhere else offers a better placement.
Electronics is possibly the hardest of all degrees, but it is sure the easiest to find good jobs, virtually any high tech company will require an Electronic engineer of some sort.

basically, electronic engineers can do 2 things: analogue or digital. analogue is more of design and analyse an analogue circuits, think speaker amplifiers. digital is to program any given chip, and make it do anything imaginable, or to design a CPU or graphics card. today, i just came back from testing a ALU (the arithmetic logic unit inside the CPU) we made, only found 2 stuck-at-1 faults, everything else works perfectly :mrgreen:
