razor wireless does it have an on/off switch if so where

can't for the life of me connect my new razor laptop to my belkin router

any ideas peoples

have installed and re-installed drivers

Does the notebook detect the router at all?

Are there any other devices that can see the network?

Are you configuring this new network with a wired connection?

I have a Belkin wireless router connected to my ntl cable modem
I have installed the wireless drivers
When I click on the wireless icon and ask it to find networks it doesn't find any
when i hard wire connected my router to the ethernet card in the laptop the internet worked fine
I am thinking there is a setting that I don't know about that i have to check/uncheck maybe
