hi guys

i have seen computers running two operating systems on one machine with optional startup, is this recommended i have windows xp and would like to install vista for gaming purposes but have xp for the the stability. i have dx10 cards and feel its going to waste.

It's pretty easy from a fresh install.

First use downloaded hard drive manufacturers utilities to partition a hard drive into two equal NTFS parts. Or shrink your XP partition with a utility like GParted on CD-R, and format the created space, or use the shrink partition feature on a Vista setup DVD. Or get an additional hard drive.

The older Windows operating system should be installed first. Then install Vista to the empty D: drive, which will write a new bootloader and option menu to the start of the first drive or partition. Er, that's it... 8)

vista doesn't have a stability problem, or a driver problem for that matter. Only thing wrong with it is... its too big bloaty and doing 100 things it doesn't need to, and thus... runs slower than XP

im going to be thinking about slabbing vista on this 250GB harddrive but im wondering would i still be able to read this drive when on 1TB on vista?
