I have just exchanged to my third Npod and this is the lastest Muse 2gb player.............and this is not working! (all three since 29/3/2006)

My second one, exchanged today, the headphones packed up, and the battery life was premature.

Exchanged this today for another one, as the previous one is no longer available, paid the extra £5 for the 2gb version.

Downloaded 15 albums across, all present and correct when plugged in, but when I select 'music' and press menu, shows 'initialising' then goes black for a second, then the timer icon appears, then nothing, it then reverts back to the 'music' screen. It just will not load the music screen to even see the directory.

To say I am not happy is an understatement, having to bring these faulty units back is costing me fuel! Not only that I have given my daughter my ipod shuffle, wish I kept it now!

I want an answer and quick, please!

Right, got home and have reformatted the unit. I have dragged and dropped one album from my original source file. It initialised fine this time.

I do believe that there was a corrupt file causing an issue with the player, it was nothing to do with all the files being WMA as it plays them okay now.

I think it may have been one of the two sample files already installed as both of these were faulty as mentioned in our chat.

I shall now go and copy more folders across and see what happens. I will continue with this for now and fingers crossed, it will not freeze again!

Thanks for your help Giles, I will keep you posted on its performance. :D

I have managed to drag and drop 16 albums onto the player. All is fine, it initilialises every time................at present!

Two things I dislike about this latest player is the lack of FM radio compared to the previous one.

The second being the lack of a loop or something to tether a neckstrap to. The earphone cable is too short when the player is in your pocket.

Sorry to hijack the thread :), but does this player have sorting of tracks by artist/album etc. ? :D Thanks

It stores them as an album. I rip them to my hard drive, then drag and drop the album to the player.

I think they are stored as the order they are dropped in, album order.
