Just started happening tonight, gets to about 10-15% and frezzes, and that is that, using alcohol or nero it does exactly the same thing, starting to annoy me a little now, any ideas people?

That seems strange, Jonny is it anything to do with the Buffer? Or it might just be old and buggered

Yeah very strange, its pretty new only a year old, a 20x lightscribe. Just wont have it uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it got too 26% but then froze again. 5 new coasters so far not good.

I usually burn stuff at a lowish X10 speed for reliability.

isorecorder gives this option with a right click on the linux iso.

You gotta bear in mind that economics dictates that blanks are made to be just good enough, and no more.

Got fed up with duff linux CDs... :D

No just random cdrom errors but with no real profile to why or what is happening i put the lightscribe software on and im wondering if it maybe that.

Could very well be the software, Seeing as it is only a year old, take it back to Nova and say you expect it to last longer than that ;) My business studies teacher told me to do that and you can usually wangle something out of it. Especially by Novatech because they want to have a good customer review thingie :D

If you don't mind me asking Jonny, how much did you pay for it back in the time?

Nice, I am going to be getting one of those for my new rig case (because beige in a black case just doesn't go.. LOL) and also, lightscribe is a nice feature to have. I have to say that I am going to go for the LiteOn instead though, always have and always will.
