Thermaltake V1 on striker extreme

Hey guys. finally got round to gettin my heatsink. ive got it installed im just stuck on the final bit. the old connect was a 4 pin, and where it went into was called cpufan, fair enough. However this is a 3 pin, and there are 2 three pin connecters close to the cpu. one is closer to the other connect than the other. but it doesnt say cpu fan.
where the **** does it go lol

yer lol. Now ive got mi heatsink tho, id like to get mi ram up from 400mhz to 800mhz. ive got 4gig its at 1.9v and memory timings are on auto.
Id like to overclock my 8800GTX to get alittle bit more fps out of it for games like crysis.
And id like to get my CPU for 2.4ghz to 3ghz.
Askin alot aint i :P
But firstly can someone give me advice on ram. Tackle one at a time aye
Oh and ive got CPUZ, what can i use to monitor temps? Cos on ati booster thing ive got like 35d idle temps, when im under load (crysis ive got like 50-55) im happy with these temps but what about when i OC? there gonna rise by like 10d arnt they

if you are reading this on CPUZ it says DDR not DDR2 or 3 so you have to times that by 2 to make 800 :) so you have DDR2 800 pal :)

The only way to budge that cpu to 3ghz is to get the 1303 bios. And Yes your ram will be running at 800 not 400 as shown in cpuz as matz said it has to x2 which makes 800.

ahh ok. ive got the 1303 bios. like ive previously said, it was over clocked by my uncle. but he used ATI booster (and ive heard these are inacurate) and the temps were just 2 high... But now ive got the heatsink installed temps have dropped by around 10d. What programme should i use to read temps. at the moment im using ati booster.
But first off. How do i overclock my 8800GTX?

Oh and what should my memory timings be? its on auto at the moment but when my uncle overclocked it he put it to 4-4-4-12. is this correct for 4gig?

The striker has an nvidia chipset doesnt it? If it does you can use the ntune facilty for overclockin and the bundled perfomance monitor will read temps etc. This is avaliable from nvidia and it is quite effective as it can do you r gpu as well as mobo and other stuff

Eep. You can overclock your graphics card by downloading a program named RivaTuner. Here is a link for you: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=163

Do not push it too far, take it in little bits and make sure you're happy with it before you move up.

No no no. Dont use Ntune, it isnt shall we say great for overclocking. Bios and Rivatuner is all you need.

Downloaded it but when it said extract i didnt realise it said that lol. thought it was asking me where to install to. so i put it in programme files on one of mi harddrives. and it tried to go there everytime now. what was i meant to extract??

Oh Btw im in bios 1305 cos thats the only one cud get 4gig of ram working on. ive had it upto 2.8ghz wi ati booster (well mi uncle did it) im happy wi that
my pc is fast enough. just like to push mi ram abit further if possible and overclock graphics card for more fps!

Yeah thats as far as it will go and only with booster, Yeah its cool the motherboard hates quads, you have to get used to that unfortunately.

What do you mean, you cannot over clock your card with any other ways, unless you use ATITool which is another one. I think you can use the NVIDIA control panel too, not recommended!

I want to use rivatuner to overclock. but when extract came up after i downloaded it, i didnt really read it cos im stupid. and thought it meant where do u want to install. so i changed the location. what was it origionally going to extact?
cos it aint workin

it would extract all the files necessary for the installation and would then proceed to the installation and then you can use it :)

it needs to extract files from my cop before i install. are there any other programmes i can use other than the ones that come with it
