At the moment i have regular wired Virgin internet, but soon ill be moving into a new house with wireless internet, taking my PC with me. What will i need to connect to the internet? I think its a fast connection. Will i have to change any proxy settings in programs? Thanks!

I'm not sure if Desktops can run off wireless, but the best thing to do is to buy a ethernet cable.
Here's one that'll do fine: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... l?CAB-C5/5 (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?CAB-C5/5)
Obviously they all come in different lengths, so it varys in price but I gave you the link to the 5 metre one. When you buy it just plug it into your PC then your wireless router, easy as that.

A PCI wireless card is usually the most troublefree to connect to a wireless network.
This £14 Edimax EW-7128G one happens to work out of the box with Ubuntu Hardy Heron too, which is a bonus:

Support page is here, if you want to know how to install it:

Just don't use it if you're going to be on Vista 64bit. Asce told me last night he is going to have to look for a new one because there is no driver support for it/drivers are bad.
I was having issues with it on Vista x64 but it worked fine on XP. I have another 2 in 2 different machines and are happily running around on the net. Its a good card but the thing that got me was Edimax said themselves that the drivers that attached in the email would work fine for Vista x64. An hour later and i still couldnt get it to be seen. Hopefully Netgear solves myu issuses.
Netgear have solved my problems. They have drivers out for x64 that work.
