My Sky HD was installed yesterday and I am afraid to report that the DVI input is unsuitable for HD. It would appear that this TV only supports HD on its component input. The Installer said this was the first HD TV he had come across that did not support HD on the DVI input, so where can i buy a component splitter? Only had the TV 2 months, i thought it would last a little bit longer than that!

a third option would be to plug your 360 into the VGA input

How big is the difference between VGA and component? Still gotta connect my PS3 when it's here.

one of my colleagues has an hdtv and a 360, i am not sure what tv it is. i dont think its one from us.

he says his looks better through a vga cable than it does through the component cables.

i have a vga cable at home for my 360 and the display is spot on.

Component is very good as long as you get high quality RGB leads.

I would say VGA is going to be a bit better than component.
For progressive scan DVD player, component is superb but for something like Xbox 360 or PS3 which produce very crisp high quality image i would say VGA or DVI is going to get you the best from your console.

However saying all that. Just looking at the picture yourself. You might find it is good enough.

with the vga cable soem of the older games will not work as it only does pal 60, with the component cables this is not a problem, i find the component cable is more than adaquate on my LCD HDTV as i use the vga on my PC monitor
