Does anyone know if novatech has the new AMD processors or when they are due out in the UK and when they wil be sold as I have read that when they come out the socket 939 computers will be cheaper is this true?

Yes we are. Try searching for AM2 on our website or click here (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/dirresults.html?d=CUR0&s=am2). These are a 940 pin configuration.

It is likely that the 775 and 939 sockets will reduce in price as the new range becomes more popular.

so how come the prices of the barebones systems havent gone down then and do any of the barebones systems contain the new processor?

Because AM2 is far from mainstream, currently offering the high end spectrum. 939 is yet to be redundant!

prices dont drop that quickly, the company have to decide on how low to drop the prices and when to drop the prices so they dont lose too much money on shifting the older stock

does anyone have any idea of when they are likely to come down in prices as I was hoping to cash in on it hope it isnt too long away coz i want to get oblivion and the like rolling

I'm afraid not. While the hardware is still powerful and functional there is no need for the manufacturer to offer reduced pricing.

939 still offers some better performances over AM2 due to the fact that AMD processors love tight timings, and ddr2 have slacked timings, so 939 will still stay at the same price until made redundent eg, just like 754

939 has a good few years left in it yet!
