I currently have a Dell PC, which came with a windows vista reinstallation CD, I'm thinking about upgrading my hard drive, to this:
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... WD-3000GLF (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?WD-3000GLF)

If i do buy and fit this HD (replacing my old HD) will i be able to reinstall vista using the CD which came with my Dell, or will it prevent me from installing it because of the change in HD

Any help on this matter, greatly appreciated

Thanks

Is it the actual Vista disk or is it only the Repair disk?

Well its a reinstallation disc, so i suppose it should have all the info needed to completely install vista. The computer has its own "device" or w/e you call it ;) which can repair the computer.

Your best bet here is to buy a Seagate or Maxtor disk. The downloadable Acronis utilities will then be able to image or copy any partition to the new disk.

Chances are your Dell restore disk will work, but you never know. Just disconnect the old hard drive and try.... :P
