Q. The redio works fine on my Npod but i cant play MP3's. It looks like they are playing but there is no sound.
A. Below is a possible fix.
1. COMPLETELY and UTTERLY drain the battery (so it doesn't even have enough power to start up).
2. Recharge the battery FULLY, making sure that the "fast charge" option is off as this only charges to 80%.
3. With the battery fully charged, attach to the pc and do a FULL format on the drive (takes about 15mins).
4. When finished formatting detach from the pc (npod will power itself off) and turn the npod back on.
5. Attach to the pc and upload any songs known to work to a folder on the drive (not directly to the root).
6. Detach from the pc (npod will power itself off) and turn the npod back on.
7. Play any song.
