Sony NWA3000 Walkman - According to the novatech email can hold 13,000 songs. Well realisticly how many songs do you have that are under approx 1.5mb?
From my googling thats 1min 9secs a song at a low quality rate of 128kbits.
This figure seems very exagerated to me,
Would a member of the novatech team like to tell me if these figures are correct?

13,000 is correct. The MP3 player stores up to 13,000 tracks.
I am guessing 13,000 will be the maximum amount of tracks the players software or the file system supports.

Remember that the Sony uses Atrac so 128kbps encoded in Atrac3plus will sound way better than mpeg layer 3 :)
just my 2 cents.
In my experience with Sony Walkman times and estimates they tend to use 64kbps as their reference bitrate for size comparison.
I don't have any negative or positive feedback for the ATRAC codec but i've heard it at 64kbps and it isn't too pretty! I guess all the manufacturers try to make the figures work for them somewhere or another.
Straying from the point a little, I have a Sony HD5 and it is serving me well, dropped a few times and no errors, battery life is awesome. I just wish they'd drop their DRM on the player so you can drag and drop songs, or use windows media player rather than sonicstage!
