I have just bought an Energiser Pro and I am using a ten meter ethanet cable to access the internet. This is a pain because it's running all the way around the house.
I am thinking of buying some sort of wireless device that I can connect to my PC to access the internet, but it will be a device that will not make the internet slow. I understand that there are many products on the market, but I wondered whether there was a specific product that is wireless and that runs at a high speed.

All internet connections are between 0 and 8MB unless you live in a better are and get cable with 16 or 20MB speeds. All routers are at 54MB/s so that will not limit you at all, though one problem.
Who is your ISP? Is it BT, ADSL, DSL or what?

It is BT. I was thinking, would one of those USB wireless devices work ok?

Yeah would be fine. Do you already have a wireless router or do you need one of those too?

I already have a Netgear wireless router, so I suppose all that I need now is a wireless device to connect to the PC. Is it possible for you to recommend one from Novatech costing under £25.00 that would run fast?

They all connect at 54MB/s to your router which is what.. up to 8x as fast as your maxed out speed..? There is no problem with it, it will be your net that will slow you down, not the wireless dongle.
Here is one that I would personally use:

Netgear is very good stuff, would of recommended the £28 model but that is a tiny bit out of your budget and I am not sure how much better it could perform, but you would only see that on LAN gaming. Not online gaming.

Thanks very much, I shall probably buy that, this will save me the trouble I am having with a cable.

Okay cool, I hope that the installation is as easy as my dads Belkin one, I think that the Netgear will be easy to install so you should be back online with wireless in no time at all :)
Enjoy!

I bought it today, however I decided to get the slightly better one for £28.01 (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... NGR-WPN111 (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NGR-WPN111)) and it works great.

Cool I am glad you're happy with it, I would have recommended that one in the first place but it was out of your budget. (Apparently any ways )
Wat operating system are you running? If its Vista, Netgear products wont run at 108mbps or higher.
so what do you do at more than 108mbps, stream pornos from your server?
No, got told by Netgear themselves about it.
i know but whos going to be doing more than 108mbps unless your at a lan and are wanting banging movies on your computer in less time than you going to buy some omn nom nom
