Hey, just a quick one...
I got bored so I decided to try and get the max out of my CPU without going over the safe voltage limit.
I managed to get to 3.4GHz and successfully pass a 3DMark06 test, here is the proof:
http://service.futuremark.com/resultAnalyzer.action?resultId=8015024&resultType=14
When I tried to go higher like 3.48GHz, even at 1.55v it just refuses to boot, BSOD straight away before I even get in to Windows so I got the feeling to stop.
What do you guys think of that result? :D I am not going to go for the 3.48GHz because it just won't happen, volts are also on the max and don't like it!
EDIT: Please note that 3DMark is incorrect, my FSB was infact at 425 with a multi of 8, they say I was on a 200FSB with a 16.5 multi.

try upping your fsb... 200 is low =]

My FSB is 200 at standard, they are incorrect. My CPU has a multiplier of 8, not 16.5 which is what they worked it out to be. I was at 425FSB.

lol its less, i think,
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=8015832
When It Was Doing the CPU Test it was below 1 fps and generally 0.... :s
maybe its my cooling, ill do it again after i get AS5
Lol
CPU Tests
CPU1 - Red Valley 0.7 FPS
CPU2 - Red Valley 1.16 FPS
what does HDR Mean? cause thats were you beat me... alot.
You also beat me with GFX Score (even though we have the same card) maybe its cause you have better cooling
8421
Quads ftw for 3dmark06 even tho its a benchmark.. whats your overal point score :) should be around 12k ish ;)
Mr. Orange

8421

8421? OMG that is low!
OC your graphics card like I have but only for a short time! set it to 755/2000/775 ;)

how do i overclock it?
can you please try it at stock? i cant ask my american friend to see what he got iwht his stock 8800 + e8400
Mr. Orange
31-08-2008, 05:13 PM
try what at stock???
My GFX was already at Stock
and it wont make a difference if i run my CPU at stock because its the heat that reduces it. all i need is AS5...
LOL so your using no thermal paste?
TheMadDutchDude
31-08-2008, 05:16 PM
Nothing to do with the heat.. :|
OC your graphics card using RivaTuner - type it in to google.

also I Downloaded the Gainward EXPERTool to Overclock it
I just maxxed out the bars in the program =]
Core Clock Speed = 850Mhz
Memory Clock Setting = 1080Mhz
Shader Clock Setting = 2130Mhz
I'm gonna risk a 3D Mark 06 Test =]
Crash? LOL adjust fan speed to 100% mines at 36% default :)
Mr. Orange
31-08-2008, 05:27 PM
what overclock it and adjust fan to 100%?
All it does it give me a black screen -.-
haha i knew. you got to use ati tool to find out your maxcore + mem and then from then find a good stable clock, for best results up alittle and up the fan speed to 100%
mine autos at 36% isperfectly silent all the time. i ramp it up only on benchmarks :)

I told you what to use... 755/2000/975...
Mr. Orange
31-08-2008, 05:42 PM
ATI Tool went up to 806Mhz for Core Clock then it kinda slowed my PC, then it went up to 858Mhz and then it crashed my PC...
was i supposed to click abort?
TheMadDutchDude
31-08-2008, 05:49 PM
No, it is finding the highest it will go.. then it will crash and reboot, upon reboot it'll tell you the max safe speed...
Mr. Orange
31-08-2008, 05:53 PM
ohhhh, well i've gone for the max safe speed i saw.
Core Clock = 750Mhz
Memory Clock = 1000Mhz
Mr. Orange
31-08-2008, 06:05 PM
w000t with
Core Clock = 750Mhz
Memory Clock = 1000Mhz
Shader Clock = 1875Mhz
I managed to get 12027 on 3D Mark 06...
Also, i realised while watching the CPU Test part my max FPS was 3 =], alot higher than 1(my previous one)
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=8017017
congratz thats the ideal score i was after :) i get that on stock 2.4ghz +gpu
