I use Norton Interent Security.. I have done for the past 4-5 years and think its brilliant!
Currently running NAV'05 .. it comes with anti-virus.. internet securty.. spam.. ad- blocking.. keeps you updated on any new virus outbreaks.. email scanning.. auto-updates...pop-up blocking..
Excellent and well worth it !!

theres one "panda" something, and that was brilliant, but does use alot of resources.
i currently have avg running, and nvidia virus utility on anti-hacking.

What your seeing is very common now.
If you purchase any software that protects your pc against intrusion or infection, the price you pay ONLY ENTITLES YOU TO 1 YEARS HELP AND UPDATES. After that you have to purchase a new *license* every year.
Now is fair enough, as the companies that are creating the patches and bits that cover you against new threats, need to pay their people. If they just sold youa disc with a program onit, without an expiery date, you could carry on for every and ever and never change it, because you'd be getting regular updates. No money in that.
SO you set your stuff so that each year it needs a new license, and generate revenue by charging people upto 75% of the original retail price to renew their license (man, is it me or can i not spell license).
I first came across this growing trend about 4 years ago, when my copy of BlackICE needed updating and a new license. wasn't willing to pay $19.95, so never used it again.
And as for Norton, well good enough prog, but its current incarnation takes up toooo much resources at boot up. I recently installed NAV06 for my mum after her NAV02 became extinct and was no longer allowed to get a new license. Sent her to Novatech to get it, saved her £15 on the retail price because she got it OEM.
Me, im using NAV04, but because i used to reinstall my OS every 6 months as safety and speed issue (cleared out all the crud in 1 go etc), i always got a fresh 1 yrs subscription for free
Download avast for free from their website. I have had it recommended by people in the know and it seems O.K. to me.

They reckon that NAV 2007 uses far less resources than the previous versions.
I've had it installed since October and not had any problems.
The only point to note is that NAV2007 has an add-on pack that has to be downloaded from Symantec.
The pack includes Parental Control, ad blocking and a utility for blocking things like credit card details being transmitted via you own string settings.
