I didn't know just how GOOD a chessplayer ex-World Champion Boris Spassky was. Everyone remembers him for losing to weirdo American Bobby Fischer's odd tactics during the cold war. Probably the only Chess match that ever caught world headlines, because it was, frankly, political.
