Hello all,
I have an Atec 37" lcd display, which I never had any problems with, until I tried (today) to attach Sky HD, via the DVI. I get about a half second of full image, then 3 to 4 seconds if digital white noise. Somewhat perplexed, I took the Sky HD box to a friends house, who has a Philips panel, and hey presto, everything worked fine, no problems whatsoever. It is quite clear that the panel does not meet the requirement to carry the HDCP logo, and therefore the HDREADY logo, as one requires the other.
On another note, the panel carries the DVB compliant logo, yet does not have two components required in the specifications, namely no digital teletext nor an accessible slot to be able to upgrade to watch pay per view channels.
As I see it, the Atec panels do not perform as stated, and can therefore should be classed as not fit for purpose.
Does anyone from Novatech wish to comment on these issues?
