i recently over clocked my old pc and now I get no display when i boot it up,the Power Led and harddrive led's come on but i get no display on my monitor.
i have checked the monitor works,any ideas?
CPU:Intel(R) Celeron(R) cpu 2.40GHz Model 2, Stepping 9
mobo:not exactly sure but its MSI

Yeah the cmos needs resetting, so if you remove your battery, or find the cmos jumper and change it too pins 2-3 then back too 1-2. This will allow your pc to reboot at its natural settings, undoing the wild oc you did :wink:

Open your case, and look for the oversized watch battery, remove it for 10 seconds and then replace it all this must be done with the mains supply removed or at least switched off at the powersupply or wall. Its better if you can leave it all plugged in as it allows for static being consumed by the inside metal of the case. Or find your motherboard manual, and look for the the cmos jumper on the mainboard diagram and do as it pointed in the 1st reply, but the battery is by far the most simple way for now.

ok so i leave it plugged in to mains but have the switch off at the plug then do it

Good good, you really wont gain much from overclocking the celeron, if im honest, but if you would like some help we are a mad bunch of overclockers here and will be glad to give you some pointers. But a new cpu would be a bit better for more oomph :wink: If your on a newish socket 775 board then im sure a 2180 cpu would be the best choice for fun overclocking at only £50 its a steal and a great little overclocker.
