I strongly recommend if you use the ASUS M2N32-SLI board that you update your BIOS to there recently released Bios V 0504.
We have found through internal testing this BIOS helps resolve a lot of stability issues with this Board and the Initial BIOS that was shipped.
Asus BIOS can be updated from the BIOS screen by using the Asus Ez Flash Utility.
Tried using the Asus Update software from within windows to try and resolve the plethora of crashes, freezes and reboots I was having. Upgraded the bios to the latest version after the software checked the file I had downloaded version (0603 I believe) and confirmed it was ok to use, rebooted when prompted and lo and behold! Checksum error.
Its now nearly 5am, I have been working on this thing for about 7 hours, and its still not booting. Following the instructions in the book, booting from a CD with a BIN file and awdflash.exe on it. Takes about 30 mins to get past the please wait screen and then.... the keyboard stops working!!! AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers
Ian
Finally sorted it last night. Reset the CMOS to default (removed battery, moved jumper to clear, moved back and replaced battery), the update from CD with AWDFLASH.EXE and M2N32SLI.BIN on then kicked in straight away. Now using BIOS version 0603, dated 29/06. Seems to be working fine so far, except for some reason my DVD drive keeps freezing the system when I try and use it. Will look into that more later, maybe I have some bad jumper settings on it.
you should always reset the cmos after updating the bios, cures a lot more problems too!

Yes it is always advisable to clear the CMOS or go in to the BIOS and load optimal defaults. This will refresh all BIOS code making sure all of it has been loaded for use.
Sometimes not doing this can cause problems with certain hardware not working.
Remember though that when you clear your CMOS you will reset your BIOS settings so you will need to set them up again with the options needed for your system configuration.
So it is best to make note of what they were before the reset if you are unsure of what setting should be what.
