OK for those of you that have been following HDD technology recently you might have seen what is known as Perpendicular Recording. Hitachi and now Seagate have perpendicular drives. These drives store data bits differently in order to increase the data storage on a single platter and thus making bigger drives in less platters.
Now i could explain it all to you but i came across this on hitachi site. Man they are losing it!! Anyway i thought they would be better to explain it to you with there lovely little animation. Enjoy =)
